Max Miao has responsibility for Kronos business operations in mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan. In his role as general manager, Miao has responsibility for defining the company’s long-term regional business strategy, as well as overseeing ongoing business development and operational activities.
Miao has more than 20-years of experience of managing the Asian regional operations of large multinational organizations and has a strong track record of translating global strategies to deliver success in local markets.
Before joining Kronos, Miao held several senior management posts for major global organizations, including the Asian vice president of Compuware and president of QAD, Greater China. He has built a strong reputation in the region based on his industry expertise, in-depth customer service acumen, and market understanding.
Miao’s ability to create and lead strong management teams led to recognition from BusinessWeek in 2006 and 2007 in its Fast 100 Companies Awards recognizing QAD’s innovative strategies and thinking. Miao himself has also been recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Managers and Leaders of Chinese management software companies by ERP World and the Chinese Software Industry.
Miao has a keen personal interest in researching Eastern and Western management culture. He has combined his years of management experience with his knowledge of human resource management to support the integration of Western performance-driven management practices with China’s more humanistic management approach. His own style is a blend of the two cultures. He has published articles on staff motivation, team building, and corporate strategy in several leading Chinese management publications.
He holds an executive master’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Engineering.
