To build a strong business case for investing in workforce management technology, intelligence gathering and analysis are important steps in the process.
In addition to identifying key business issues that indicate a need for workforce management technology, you also must understand the root causes of these issues to determine how processes need to change and how the technology will improve these issues.
The Roads Business Unit of the Transportation Department of the City of Calgary participated in a Kronos® Value Assessment, a comprehensive evaluation of the department's workforce management systems and processes. The assessment uncovered five areas of potential savings of more than $700,000 per year:
"Having Kronos work with us on this analysis saved us the many, many hours it would have taken to gather and analyze the data ourselves. This process put some numbers to our proposal and gave us an ROI that we could hang our hat on. Very conservatively, it showed we could have the system paid off in three years."
